Eidra is a tool for remembering the people in your life. The notes you write are personal, sometimes intimate. This page explains, plainly, what we collect, what we do with it, who else sees it, and how to remove it.
1. Who we are
Eidra ("we," "us," or "the app") is an iOS app operated from the United States. The fastest way to reach us is eidra.app@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
When you use Eidra, the following information passes through our systems:
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-issued user identifier and (if you allow) your name and a relay email address. We do not see your real Apple ID password.
- Notes you create. Voice memos and typed notes you record in Eidra, along with the AI-extracted structured fields (people, relationships, interests, dates, places, follow-ups).
- Audio recordings (temporary). When you record a voice memo, the audio file is uploaded so we can transcribe it. We delete the audio file from our storage immediately after transcription succeeds. We do not retain a long-term copy of your voice recordings.
- Subscription state. Whether you're on the Free, Casual, or Business plan, plus a record of when subscription events occur (purchase, renewal, cancellation). Payment details (card number, etc.) are handled by Apple — we never see them.
- Crash and error reports. If the app crashes or errors, we receive a stack trace, basic device info (iOS version, device model), and your account ID via our error monitoring service (Sentry). When an error happens, Sentry may capture a brief replay of the screen leading up to it — but text content, images, and input fields are masked by default, so the replay shows the visual structure of the screen without exposing your notes or transcripts.
- Operational logs. Standard server logs (request timestamps, IP addresses, error codes) kept for security and abuse prevention.
3. How we use it
- To run Eidra: transcribing audio, extracting structured fields, generating briefings, powering search.
- To enforce subscription tiers and rate limits.
- To diagnose and fix crashes and bugs.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your data, use it to train AI models on your behalf or anyone else's, or show you ads.
4. Who processes your data on our behalf
To run Eidra, we route data through a small set of trusted service providers. Each only sees the slice of data they need. Each provider listed below is contractually bound to protect your data at the same level Eidra does, including not using it to train AI models. Before any of your notes are sent to an AI provider, the app asks for your explicit consent during setup.
- Supabase — our database and file storage host. Stores your account record, notes, transcripts, structured fields, and (briefly) audio files. Per their commercial terms, Supabase does not access your data except as needed to operate the platform. Privacy
- Anthropic (Claude) — extracts people and structured fields from your notes and writes briefings. Receives the text of your note and the structured context for the matched contact. Per Anthropic's commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on customer inputs or outputs. Terms · Privacy
- Google AI (Gemini) — transcribes your voice memos and computes search embeddings. Receives the audio file (temporarily) and the text of your note. We use the paid Gemini API tier; Google does not use prompts or responses to train or improve their models on the paid tier. Inputs are logged briefly for abuse detection only. Terms
- RevenueCat — manages your subscription state and reconciles purchases with the App Store. Receives your account ID and subscription events (purchase, renewal, cancellation). Does not see note content. Privacy
- Apple — handles Sign in with Apple and all payment processing for in-app subscriptions. We see only your Apple-issued user ID and (if you allow) a relay email. Privacy
- Sentry — error monitoring and crash reporting. Receives stack traces, device info, your account ID, and (on error) a masked screen replay. Configured to mask all text, images, and inputs by default. Privacy
- Vercel — hosts this website (not the app or your data). Privacy
5. How long we keep things
- Audio files: deleted from our storage immediately after transcription. Not retained.
- Notes, transcripts, contacts, structured fields: kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Account record: kept until you delete your account. When you delete your account, we wipe all data associated with you within 30 days.
- Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Server logs: retained for up to 90 days for abuse prevention and security investigation.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access and edit. Open any contact in Eidra to see what's stored. You can edit names, structured fields, dates, and notes directly in the app.
- Delete a note. Swipe a note in a contact's timeline to remove it.
- Delete a contact. Use the contact list's hide/delete actions.
- Delete everything. Profile → Delete account. We wipe your account and all associated data within 30 days. You can also email us if you'd prefer that route.
- Export. Email eidra.app@gmail.com and we'll send you a JSON export of everything tied to your account within 30 days.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you also have the right to request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email us to exercise any of these rights.
7. Children
Eidra is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) between your device and our servers, and at rest in our database and storage providers. Access to production systems is limited to the developer. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you within 72 hours.
9. International users
Our servers are based in the United States. If you use Eidra from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US under standard data protection terms with our processors.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects how we handle your data, we'll notify you in the app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Eidra after a change means you accept the updated policy.
